She acted in Ratri Zee Bangla's mega serial Uthoshober Ratri and even anchored Rupasi Bangla's Dashavatar TV programme. But her heart was always set on films. She was open to doing any role from a cameo to an item numbers."

Says a make-up artiste,

"Dimpy is quite a bindaas babe, without any inhibitions and was cool about doing any kind of scene and wearing anything the director wanted her to do. Once she came to Aqua (club) wearing casuals, removed that to reveal a bikini, and jumped into the pool! She was second runner-up in the Sananda Tilottama (a beauty pageant organised by the magazine edited by Aparna Sen) in 2007. She is a party animal.
